Tapuwanashe (Tapuwa) Murombedzi is an aspiring researcher committed to advancing inclusive and sustainable policy solutions. She holds a Master’s degree in Political Studies from Wits University.
Tapuwa is a Research Assistant at the African Centre for Migration & Society (ACMS), working under the Gendered Migration, Mobility and Sexuality (GEMMS) program. Her work supports research on gender, migration, and mobility across Southern Africa, contributing to data collection, fieldwork, and analysis.
With an academic background in Politics, Tapuwa holds a master’s degree in political studies from the University of the Witwatersrand with a focus on xenophobia during periods of transformation. This research has shaped her interest in migration, social change, and the lived experiences of vulnerable communities.
Tapuwa brings both analytical and field research expertise, with a commitment to producing knowledge that informs inclusive policy and deepens understanding of migration in the region. Currently, Tapuwa is in the early stages of developing a PhD project, with a keen interest in advancing scholarship that deepens understanding of migration and informs inclusive policy.
